Section 1

Overview

Cruisefor99p.com is a compliance-led fundraising platform. Members enter luxury cruise prize draws from 99p, and a fixed share of every entry goes to the UK charity attached to that draw.

This manual is written for everyone who touches the platform: members entering a draw, charity partners tracking their share, and the team running draws behind the scenes. Each section stands on its own, so you can jump straight to the part you need.

99p

Minimum entry price for a standard cruise draw

18+

Age-verified at registration, before any entry is accepted

Free route

A no-purchase entry method runs alongside every paid draw

Section 2

Roles

Everything on the platform is controlled by role. Your role decides which pages you can open, which records you can see, and which actions you can take.

Member

Signed-up entrant

Registers an account, verifies their age and identity, enters draws, and tracks entries and results from their dashboard.

Charity partner

Beneficiary organisation

Registers an account, verifies their age and identity, enters draws, and tracks entries and results from their dashboard.

Administrator

Platform team

Creates and schedules draws, manages member records, runs the draw itself, and publishes results and winner announcements.

Compliance officer

Oversight

Approves each draw before it opens, reviews age and identity checks, monitors free-entry records, and signs off the audit trail after every draw.

Section 3

Workflows

The member journey runs in five stages. Every stage writes to the audit log, so a draw can be reconstructed end to end at any point.

1

Register and verify

The member creates an account, confirms their email, and passes an age check. Accounts that fail verification cannot enter a draw.

2

Choose a draw

Open draws list the prize, the charity, the entry price, the closing date and the total entries available.

3

Enter

Entries are paid by card through Stripe, or submitted by post through the free entry route. Both are recorded in the same entry pool and carry equal odds.

Award the prize

4

Draw and verify

Entries close, the winner is selected by a verified random process, and

the compliance officer confirms the result before anything is published.

5

The winner is contacted directly, the result is published, and the charity donation for that draw is transferred and recorded.

Section 4

Compliance

Cruisefor99p.com operates as a prize competition under UK law and is a member organisation of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. The rules below are not optional — a draw cannot open until all four are satisfied.

Free entry route

Every paid draw runs alongside a postal free entry route with identical odds. Free entries are logged in the same pool and counted in the same draw.

Age and identity

Entrants must be 18 or over and resident in the UK. Verification happens at registration and is re-checked before a prize is released.

Charity donations

Member data is processed under UK GDPR. Records are retained only for as long as the audit and prize-fulfilment process requires.

Data protection
